Manatee Madness

Step into Florida’s underwater world through Linda Murphy’s lens. Born from a hair stylist’s passion for manatees, the Manatee Madness Collection captures intimate spring encounters with these gentle giants. From a curious male ascending from 18 feet deep to resourceful babies foraging, each photograph reveals their remarkable nature. The star is Dottie, whose portrait-perfect poses captivated audiences worldwide. Taken during Linda’s first photography outing in December 2020, these images became the foundation for merchandise sold at art shows and online, a love letter to Florida’s beloved marine mammals.

About the exhibitor: Manatee Madness was born out of my crazy love for these incredible animals. My family moved from Pennsylvania to Sebastian, Florida in 2015, and I quickly fell in love with many things in Florida. Manatees are at the top of that list. I have had the privilege of swimming with them and observing them on many occasions throughout the years, all over Florida, taking photos of these amazing animals. I learn new things every time I watch them. Being underwater is a beautiful escape for me, where everything else fades away, and I am filled with just joy and gratitude. I decided in December 2020 to turn my passion into art and share these rare moments with the world. I hope you choose something from this fantastic collection of photos and merchandise and that it makes you smile for years to come. Please visit my website at www.manateemadness.net.
