Manatee Lagoon & Guy Harvey Foundation

At Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center©, we are proud to offer a variety of free educational resources for teachers. In partnership with the Guy Harvey Foundation, we have created hands-on marine science content for middle and high school students. Our middle school resources include “Manatee Adaptations,” which explores the unique adaptations that help manatees thrive in their environment, and “Manatee Behavior & Identification,” which teaches students about manatee behavior and how to identify individual manatees. Our high school content, “Properties of Seawater,” delves into the physical and chemical properties of seawater and their impact on marine life.

The Guy Harvey Foundation is a non-profit organization that conducts scientific research and hosts educational programs aimed at conserving the marine environment. The foundation funds research and educational initiatives to encourage conservation and best management practices for sustainable marine environments. By partnering with the Guy Harvey Foundation, we are able to provide students with engaging and informative resources that promote marine conservation and education.
