Step outside the center’s back doors to join one of our educators, a “Manatee Master,” to learn some cool facts about our favorite marine mammal and other local marine life. Hear about “all things manatee,” learn what you can see from the observation deck and get answers to manatee-related questions in a Q&A session following the presentation. Lagoonside Chats are outdoors only, so the program may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
Public Lagoonside Chats – For individuals or groups with less than 10 people
Date: Daily, unless otherwise noted on the calendar
Time: 2 p.m.; the program typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes
Registration: Opens 45 days in advance of each event and is requested for planning purposes.
Location: Outdoors, outside of center’s back doors. Limited seating is available on a first come, first serve basis the day of the program. Standing room is available.

Private Lagoonside Chats – For groups of 10 or more people
Date: Tuesdays – Sundays from January through May
Time: 10 a.m.; the program typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes, but requests to adjust the length of time, up to 60 minutes, can be accommodated.
Group Size: minimum of 10 and maximum of 25 people
Registration: Opens 5 months in advance and closes 14 days ahead of each offering
Cost: Free
Cancellation Policy: Program offerings are subject to change and availability may vary based on factors such as venue rentals, staff schedules or other program bookings. Program may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
Self-guiding group visits – Groups with 10 or more people not registering for a tour or program
Large groups (10 or more people) interested in visiting Manatee Lagoon without a tour or program reservation are asked to provide at least two week’s advance notice of their plans (e.g. preferred date and time, number of visitors and mode of transportation). We may ask groups to adjust their plans to help manage visitation and parking levels to provide everyone with the best visitor experience.
